About

Welcome to the official site of Peter Anthony, author of the novels A Town Called Immaculate, Drill & Sanctimony, and Accelerating Returns.  First off, I should mention, I love to write stories.  Some people fix up classic cars, I like to fabricate ideas.  Sometime in 2001 the urge to write began and has yet to cease.  I was out for a jog when the notion to write something came to me and I had to run home.  Since then, periods of time have come and gone where I write more than others, but no matter what, the roots have grown deep, and it seems that writing will be my favorite hobby for many years.

My first novel was published in 2007 and since then I’ve been at work on other novels and short stories.  I have some exciting things in the works, all of which I hope to share through this website and through more publications.  For anyone interested in reviewing early works, or sending likes and dislikes, please contact me if you want to say anything other than spam (“Want to buy cheap Levitra?”).

As for my life outside of writing, I am a father and husband – those are my highest priorities.  For a day job, I work in software, for Oracle Corporation.  I live in Minnesota.

I’ve worked as a sports writer for All Headline News (which was really more like re-writing sports stories) and as a magazine contributor for AskMen.com.  I  prefer to spend my time writing fiction.  I grew up on a farm.  I’ve worked as a mechanic, a warehouse laborer, a system operator, a homeless shelter resident advocate, a software engineer, a software consultant, and a support engineer.

If you would like to contact me, please use my contact page, or email me directly at peteranthonybooks (-at-) gmail (-dot-) com.  Please check out the excerpts, reviews, and short stories on this website.  The link below will take you to the Macmillan page for my first novel.

‘With its terse emotions, rural dysfunction and sharply comic moments, this suspenseful debut shares midwestern ambience and territory with the Coen brothers’ Fargo. An array of strong characters gives a bright, nervy edge to Anthony’s fresh prose’ – James Urquhart, Financial Times

‘A commendable debut’ – Simon Baker, Literary Review
